day eight

I had three 16 oz juices made of cucumber, orange, and celery. 250 cals

I had some Bob's Red Mill hot cereal. 150 cals

Some whole wheat spaghetti with sauce I made from fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, spices, and a can of low sodium tomato sauce. 350 cals

Then during my physics exam I ate some figs and dates. I had some coffee, too. 400 cals

Then for dinner I had some steamed/boiled broccoli, potato and carrot with hot sauce over a bed of fresh spinach. 130 cals

For dessert I mashed up some blackberries I got for cheap with stevia and put that over frozen bananas with raw chocolate syrup. 140 cals

I totally forgot to take pictures. Which doesn't matter because my camera sucks, but my gma got it for me so it's awesome.

I think that was an ok day of food. I didn't wait until 4 though. I'm still glad I haven't eaten refined sugar desserts. Cals a bit below 1500 calories. I am not too full. Yes!

I have been looking up lots of food inspiration on instagram. So I am going to make my smoothies and juices first thing in the morning and drink them fresh for breakfast. I usually make them the night before to save time. I hope this will keep me from drinking my coffee.

I looked up 80-10-10 and that looks really hard. 80% calories from carbs. 10% cals from fat and protein. Normal is 40-40-20. Some doctor says that's healthier. I kinda like it, too. So for me that would be 600 cals from carbs. 600 from protein and 300 from fat.

Seriously, I am so emotional right now. I am a little stressed about school and other stuff, but seriously I am tearing up about everything sweet and sad. Babies look squishy.

I ran 7 and a quarter miles yesterday, so I'm taking a break tonight.

I gotta study for my german quiz tomorrow. bye

Day Seven

I had 3 juices, a beet kvass shot, and a brunch meal; a blueberry waffle, tofu scramble, and potatoes w/ ketchup. I really want chocolate.

I feel really emotional right now. I am sad. Confused. My heart is leaning up against my rib cage. Maybe it's because I ate bread. Or... other stuff.

Day Six

I am a little hungover. I had three beers. fuck. Anyway. Good times, eh?

I started the day with three green smoothies-400 cals. Holy physics I am so worn out. Physically and emotionally. I want to do no homework and just workout all day and sleep and take baths.


 
Beet Kvass is very good (I think). I drank a two ounce shot of this.

 
Some tea. Mmm. Get regular is right. I drank two weightless teas.

 
I had some soup with my friend Nick at Cilantro. A vietnamese restaurant. It actually says "vegan" on the menu for this soup. Makes me happy.-400 cals

I'm really proud of myself for not having refined sugar.
I also had 200 cals of figs. I had some chili spaghetti-880 cals.

I can't wait to have donuts in NYC. Seriously.
I really like keeping up with this everyday. Keeps me on something.
 
My exercise was Buns of Envy video and I wore leg weights for 3 1/2 hours. I'm thinking of trampolining a bit and doing some squats and crunches.

I had some more chili and whole wheat pasta with a salad. The salad was spinach, ranch, bits, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, and red onion.

So I'm meeting a friend at a bar. I may or may not smoke a cig and drink a beer. Oh, man. I'm a terrible cleanser.

Day four

Here's today:

Food I ate after four
 
Ketchup and Mustard with baked potato fries. Whole wheat spaghetti with chili underneath

 
Green smoothie of banana, pineapple, cantalope, and spinach
 
I also had some dates and figs. Calories total approx. 1750. I'm trying to exercise an hour a day 5-6 days a week. Today is trampoline or running outside. It's 50 degrees. I don't know. I have been eating a bit of sodium. I think I am going to have some water retention tea. I also had some coffee, but I didn't finish it. So I'm thinking it's more of a ritual. I will make some and drink what I can as it's hot. When I'm done I'll just throw out the rest. I will keep telling myself that my preground coffee probably has bug pieces in it. Aaaahh! Oh, man.
 
I really like eating mostly raw til 4 (except for the coffee). I am sometimes overeating for dinner. But I did good today. My face looks clearer. I think not eating dessert is good for me.

I am being a terrible rule follower. I had some coffee with almond milk, too. Still not so bad. I usually eat so much dessert! So this is good. I think I'm going to take my calories down. I need to eat more fruit in the day time. I was too hungry with just the apples, dates, and figs. I am going to the store now for some spinach and blueberries. Smoothie time. I might make some juice, too. Total Cals-2330. Oh man. I am too full.

Day Zwei

I failed to mention that I am terrible with cleanses. I already caved into my coffee craving this morning! Only 16 oz. though. And I decided if I was going to have coffee then no tv today. Which is my other addiction. AND I got some vegan ranch (follow your heart brand-it's the best).

I like the water drinking in the morning. It's very calming as I sit down and drink it all.

I can't wait to finish one of my short stories. Maybe that can happen tonight after calculus homework.

Here's what I had today:

 
4 and a half cups of plain water. (I did not eat that apple)

The coffee I drank. Something my mom got. Really good without coconut creamer or sugar.


4 jars of smoothie. Tasted better with less romaine. Red grapes, romaine, cantalope, and banana.

3 glasses of straight up orange juice. I juiced them myself.

My salad: red leaf lettuce, tomato, bell pepper, vegan ranch, avocado, red onion, mushroom, and *gasp* bac'un bits.

Baked white potato fries. No oil, pepper, garlic powder, and italian seasoning.


Banana Acai ice cream with banana, Sambazon acai pack, and a spoonfull of raw chocolate sauce from wilderness family naturals. (It's on top of my calc hw.)
I also had a date and some figs and a couple cups of cold tea and a kombucha.
 
I ran two miles today. I feel pretty tired. BTW I was thinking I might start an instagram account. And do reviews of scary movies and comics I read on this blog. I'm going to do 100 squats, too.
 
I feel pretty ok with this day's foods. I think I am going to stick with coffee. 16 oz or less. About 5 cups of water as soon as I wake up. Juices, smoothies, fruits for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is potatoes, spaghetti, or rice with a salad of some kind. Low oil.

Day One!

Day one has gone well. Having the potatoes is good. My green smoothie was not so good. Not too bad either. I think it was the romaine. Tomorrow is OJ in the morning and I might make a banana, pineapple romaine smoothie again so I can use all my romaine. I wish I had coffee though. My mind is a little fuzzy.

Baked sweet potato fries with organic ketchup that I had with the salad.


I just gave up coffee cold turkey so I drank a cup of Teecino. I used to hate it, but it's really grown on me. I usually drink it at night when I want coffee.
 
I also snacked on some regular fries I am getting ready for tomorrow and 4-5 dates. And I had a GT's Kombucha. It was really hard to eat salad. Kombucha made my tumtum feel better.
 
Total calories are approx. 1500-1800.

Day Zero

I still feel hungover. I kinda regret getting drunk twice before my cleanse. Oh, well. It was fun.
I got some stuff together. Brown rice. Dates. Potatoes. I pre-made my smoothie tomorrow morning: romaine, pineapple and bananas. Approx. 600 calories. I will bring 4 dates to snack on. Still thinking about using corn pasta or the two boxes of whole wheat pasta I already have. I'm going to eat the potatoes and sweet potatoes and rice first then I will eat pasta if I really want it.

I also got bell peppers, red onion, mushrooms, and avocados for my salads. Organic oranges, too. For orange juice or as is.

One day a week is all raw so I think I will visit Loving Hut, a vegan restaurant for that.

 
I baked some sweet potatoes. They turned out better than I thought without oil. I kept going back and forth about using my oil I have left, but I am not. My mom can use it or I am going to make a scrub with it. Or just wait the 30 days of course.
 
Ugh. I feel gross. I'm taking a lavender bubble bath. Bye bye.

Day Negative One

So I had one last hurrah on my lazy spring break. I had so much fun. It included drunken skateboarding to my favorite 24-hour diner. Yes, I ate fried food. Gasp. Crinkle fries, hashbrowns, and fried pickles. I had 3 drinks and a couple sips of whiskey. Gross. Jack at that. But I thank the person who bought it for me.

Monday I start my Raw till 4 cleanse.

My waist is 26 1/4 in.
My thigh is 20 in.
My hip is 30 /4 in.
Weight today was 106 lbs. Weight fluctuates from 106 to 108. 107-109 on my moon.

I am 5'3".

As I said before, the cleanse is for cleansing and looking and feeling healthy. I am kind of hoping to let go of some fattiness and firm up. Maybe eating whole foods and less processed oil will make my exercise more beneficial. My before pictures are a little unflattering. I am going to pick the best one right now. :)

I will either post what I eat tomorrow or just start Monday. Today I woke up at 5 pm. Eek. And made some asian-style vegetable soup. Very yum. Not as good as Cilantro though. Or Pho Lang. (Vietanamese restaurants in Cincinnati).

Attempt at Cleanse: Raw till 4

Wotd is forlorn.

Spring has started and I want to cleanse up before summer starts plus tweak my entire lifestyle by adding and subtracting some habits. I'm going to Germany for a month in June. So maybe lots of beer drinking. Maybe not. I also just want to have more energy and really LOOK healthy.


I have always liked raw veganism and even lost 10 pounds going raw for a month. (I also was eating less.) But I always felt like there could be too much nut eating and that it really burned your social life. People might have lots of arguments for that. I am already vegan and feel like a weirdo when I am ordering food with omnis at not so vegan-friendly places.

"Are you sure there's no milk in this? Can you ask the chef?"

"What do you mean a 'little bit of butter'?! That is not cool."

"Yes, any wine is fine. I know I said I was vegan, but sometimes if I can't find it on Barnivore it's fair game and sometimes it's not. Today I am ok with it."

"Sugar? No, I'm cool with whatever sugar. Fish sauce is not ok though. A lot of companies don't use bone char now. I'm gambling with my veganism. It could be beet sugar. Maybe."

The amount of effort I put into my food choices. Sigh. It's a love hate relationship. No, I do like it. I really do.

Anyway, I have been following a couple raw vegans on youtube for years! and they switched to Raw till 4 regimen. I was ecstatic! This new lifestyle of theirs seems very doable. The woman looks very hot. Good sign. But then I saw another woman's instagram of her Raw till 4 lifestyle. She is absolutely gorgeous. And she eats beautiful food. It also showed me that I am not eating enough raw veggies. Which is funny because I eat a lot. But it is also what things I add to my diet like coffee, coffee, refined sugar, more refined sugar and some alcohol. So I am giving Raw till 4 a shot for 30 days.

No coffee
No alcohol
No refined sugar
No processed oils (this one is hard because I just bought a bottle of olive oil, I love it on my salads)

I start the day with 4 1/2 cups of water with or without lemon.

I have my first meals of the day be simple fruit smoothies or fruit monomeals or fruit with romaine lettuce. Bananas and dates are staples. Juices are good, too. But simple. Not too much stuff like I usually do.

Drink lots of water. Smoothie water counts toward water.

Exercise is super important! I already run at least 3 times a week for an hour. I might up this if I have more energy. I like to do yoga and exercise vids, too. I also do 100 squats a day.

Dinner is a big salad with some root veggies or corn pasta with homemade tom sauce. I usually eat whole grain pasta but this should be ok even if it has little fiber because I will be eating lots of fiber with the fruit. I am still deciding whether to take my vitamins. Tomato soup is ok and so is homemade vegetable soup.

Other things the pioneer says that are imperative is low sodium and 2500-3000 calories a day.

I feel really bad, but I am not going to follow the calorie thing. She would kill me if she knew. But thankfully my blog is really like a journal that no one reads. I am going to stick to 1200 to 1500 to 1700 calories. Maybe 2000 some days if I am very hungry.

I watched too many people post videos about weight gain and how hard it was for them to eat lots of calories. I even tried last summer to eat 30 bananas a day. It killed me. I gained 5 pounds in a week.

The second gorgeous lady doesn't eat that much I think so I am going to follow her lead a little more because she looks healthier.

I start Monday and plan to post everyday what I eat. I just took my before pictures and I am about to take my body measurements. I take my weight everyday. I will reveal all that tomorrow. I  am hoping posting about this everyday will keep me on track. Good luck to me!

Tired of HW

Maybe I'm just too old. Maybe I'm a bum at heart. Whatever. I'm so tired of studying so I took a shitty picture of my juices.
Health update: Coffee everyday. Alcohol once or twice a month and cigarettes once every months. Exercise weekly. Running, yoga, ballet video, and squats. I feel pretty ok. I have bags under my eyes, but I hope it's because it's winter and I look really pale.



This picture is tiny! Ack! But I got a free Suja juice from a Victoria's Secret pop-up tent on campus. The other two are home-made. The Suja juice is apple, cucumber, celery, kale, collards, spinach, lemon, ginger, chlorella, and spirulina. My juices are celery, cucumber, kale, parsley, apples, lemon, and carrot. All organic. I usually make my own juices. I drink my juices within 3 days. I can't imagine how these juices at stores stay fresh, but I still appreciate this free one. It's pretty good. I'll stick with home-made though. Cheaper and I know exactly what's in them.

I always want to do a cleanse, but I hate them. So I just drink a green juice and/or a green smoothie everyday. I try to eat salad everyday. If I don't want any though, I don't make myself.

BTW!!!! FIRST VEGAN BAKERY in CINCY!!! Happy Chicks Bakery. So excited.
