Stuff I Ate and How I'm Doing

I finished my master's degree and I have time and want to blog again!

I want to write about restaurants I go to, my ultimate health journey, what I eat in a day and new recipes. And then weird things I think about and maybe funny guest blogs from my mom who likes to review fast food restaurants.

Word of the Day is temerity - audacity, boldness

I tried the Flipd breakfast sandwich. Flipd is a restaurant by IHOP. This sando has vegan egg and vegan sausage from sweetearth. It also had avocado and roasted tomatoes. The bread was vegan according to a website but the nutrition info was confusing because it looked like it had cholesterol. I'll need to double check if I get it again. This could use some vegan cheese.

There was a pop-up at one of my local bars. The pop-up was called Vuture Foods. It consisted of chicken sandwiches and fries. I got the habanero mango chicken sandwich and the loaded buffalo chicken fries. The ig page says the sandwich is made of wheat, soy and peas. My friend and I grabbed 2 NA drinks and felt fancy.
My mom got me a Vegan Revolution milk maker for Christmas and I finally started using it. I've only made almond milk so far and I only like it with cereal which is great to me. It gives you pulp so I've made 2 batches of chocolate chip cookies. It's really cool to get 2 foods from a cup of almonds. Next I'm making cheese with it. With agar agar.
I'm off to bed and drinking some Kava stress tea. I have this in my house at all times. I also use some local gummies that I will probably talk about soon. I don't drink this for the taste.

I found my favorite creamer. Coffeemate first came out with Natural Bliss but now they have 2 flavors in the regular brand! This french vanilla flavor is my favorite. Reminds me of being a kid and drinking out of my dad's coffee cup.

Funny thing I am thinking about is accidental table deaths in shows. People get heated and argue and someone gets pushed and bangs their temple on the corner of a table. All kinds of tables. Tables are killers. Be careful. I am thinking of the show Psych and just realized that there is an accidental table death in the first episode! After I found several episodes in later seasons.

What I ate- Monday & Friday dinner

Friday we ate at Lalo. Mexi-Bibimbap and Mexi-Pad Thai. Subbed out eggs for avocado on both. The new location was nice and we sat in the big open window spot in the front.

Today I was super full from yesterday! I didn't eat until 4pm!

Coffee with silk caramel creamer. Seltzer with diet sprite drops.

I ate with my friend Dora.

Grilled cheese with simple truth pepper jack and pumfu sausage crumbles, homemade potato salad, and some tomato soup.

Then a chocolate covered oreo.

Then african peanut stew served over white rice with green peas and some red lentils. Just one bowl.

Then I ate the head off my chocolate bunny from chocolat latours.

And a black tea from Churchills called "Moscow Nights" with Silk caramel creamer.

Uff. Good night.

What I ate today - Sunday Funday

 Stressed. Hanging in there.

Breakfast: Just egg folded egg, coffee with silk caramel almond creamer, fried potatoes w/ onion, bell pepper and mushrooms, pumfu sausage crumbles, half a slice of white bread, couple bites of potato salad, lots of ketchup

Lunch: Coffee with soymilk with rachel <3 at coffee emporium, half of CE vegan brownie. Was so good and moist, haven't had one in forever.

Dinner: Taquiera Mercado-- small burrito no cheese no sour cream add avocado, lots of tortilla chips and salsa, house margarita split with Steven because it was a little too strong and too sweet! (I was craving one all week.ha did not hit the spot)

Some cigs, not much exercise. Shaved my legs.

I haven't been reading much for years! I can't even call myself a vocabularian. I've been working and working on my masters thesis. So I could share some physics words like plasmon and magnetoresistance. A plasmon is a plasma oscillation. Plasmonics are electronics that use plasmons.

I've been thinking about picking up German again. It just seems important to me that I know another language. I think I was too self-conscious before about not being perfect.

I was planning on skating this week but got worried since I realized it could be packed even with limited numbers. I'll wait a couple of weeks. I don't get vaccinated until Saturday. Ugh. Sucks scrolling through fb and people knowing how stressed everyone is and then shaming everyone. I get it. We all want to get of this. There's probably so many opinions on this and it's exhausting. I thought I would blog to relieve some stress and keep stock of what I've been eating. I haven't been exercising and eating as healthy as I wanted. Once quarantine started, buying more fun foods was making me happy.

Actually, I found a word I liked from Vonnegut's "Hocus Pocus" but I forgot it. I found "crurifragium" though. Which means breaking the lower leg bones during crucifixion. Terrible. I'm reading "Cat's Cradle" now.

Ok, goodnight.

Review of Nice Knees- "Falling into Sand"

I'm free-bleeding on my fake oriental rug while my foot falls asleep listening to this new band. Or maybe it's just one person.

Do you know what it feels like to miss your past so much but realize you could never go back? Because you're too different. It wouldn't be the same.

Nice Knees is the kind of music I fawn over. It gives me more of a feeling I try to tap into. It makes me feel like the depravity of the commercialism ridden 90s and idyllic summers of my teen years before social media and internet made it different. It's like I know I'm going to die and everything sucks and not everything is safe but it's ok. I'm going to love myself and live my life while I have it.

This EP is called "Falling into Sand". "Sss" track is on repeat for me. The oscillating beats of "Yeah/Uh" bounces me back and forth on light waves.

Find this on bandcamp.
